FAYETTEVILLE — Former Arkansas men's basketball guard Khalif Battle has committed to Gonzaga, per a report from On3's Joe Tipton.

Battle entered the NCAA transfer portal following former Arkansas coach Eric Musselman's departure for Southern Cal. He has one year of eligibility remaining.

Battle averaged 14.8 points and 3.3 rebounds for the Razorbacks in 2023-24. He had an inconsistent role for large portions of the season before he became the team's primary scoring option in the weeks leading to the SEC Tournament.

He scored 137 points in a four-game stretch in February and March, the most of any SEC men's basketball player over the past 20 years.

Battle joined Arkansas after three seasons with Temple and one at Butler.

He joins Joseph Pinion (Arkansas State), Tramon Mark (Texas) and Baye Fall (Kansas State) as the only former Razorbacks to have announced their official future plans. Trevon Brazile entered the NBA Draft with the reported intention of forgoing his remaining eligibility but entered the transfer portal Wednesday.

Keyon Menifield, Layden Blocker, Davonte "Devo" Davis, Denijay Harris and walk-on Cade Arbogast all entered the portal, but have not announced their commitments as of May 5.

El Ellis, Jalen Graham, Jeremiah Davenport and Makhi Mitchell all exhausted their eligibility.

Players who have entered the portal can return to Arkansas, should new coach John Calipari and his staff invite them. As things stand, walk-on Lawson Blake is the only returning member of last season's team.

Since his arrival, Calipari has filled six scholarship roster spots — transfers Zvonimir Ivisic (Kentucky), Jonas Aidoo (Tennessee) and Johnell Davis (Florida Atlantic) and freshmen Karter Knox, Johnuel "Boogie" Fland and Billy Richmond. Massachusetts transfer Josh Cohen was committed to Arkansas but followed Musselman to USC.

The Razorbacks have seven open scholarship spots remaining. They hosted Kentucky transfer Adou Thiero on a visit last week and are expected to remain active in the transfer portal.
